NYU Dinosaur Theatre Workshop

Hi!

Can someone tell me who did the dinosaur theatre workshop at NYU? And what the title of the book was that the plan was based on?

My guess is that it may have been the "Drama and Dinosaurs" but what she described seemed a bit different.

THANK YOU!

I think you might be talking about the read aloud that we did. The book is titled "Dinosaurumpus" by Tony Mitton.

The book sequentially goes through about 8 dinosaurs - Triceratops, Deinosuchus, Apatosaurus, Pteranodon, Stegosaurus, Styracosaurus, Deinonychuses, and Tyrannosaurus. As it introduces each, there is a particular action or little dance that the dinosaur does, and that you can cue different groups of kids to do--this would be the drama part. There is also a recurring ditty, "Shake, shake shudder to the sludgy old swamp. The dinosaurs are coming get ready to romp."

It's great for learning the names of the dinosaurs, actions/verbs, and drama. There is an extra copy at the office if you can grab it before someone else!
